Native Sovereignty

In this 48-page feature package I worked with a type designer to render the headline "We Are Here" into six different languages spoken by Indigenous peoples featured in the story. Corresponding colors are linked to a key at the bottom where each tribe is identified. The story delves deeply into the different ways Native nations in the U.S. and Canada are seeking to reclaim their sovereignty, saving their homelands and culture. I worked closely with the story team to create a layout that synched each of the five chapters with accompanying photography and maps. Below is an early video mockup I created for our digital story.
